Repairs and Recovery

We specialise in major repairs, overhauls and rebuilds of all models and manufacturers of mobile cranes such as Terex-Demag, Leibherr, Grove, Coles, Krupp and PPM. We have the facility to completely strip and rebuild cranes that have been damaged as a result of road traffic accidents, falling over, fires or over lifting.

These repairs involve stripping down machines and making good existing parts, fabricating new parts or replacing with new from the manufacturer. We can carry out welding repairs or modifications or may send certain parts – eg slew rings, engines, gearboxes, rams or cylinders – away for specialist refurbishment.

For less-obvious faults we have the expertise to troubleshoot and rectify problems that have baffled other engineers – when all else fails, phone Taylor’s!

We have the skills, resources, knowledge and experience to turn repairs around quickly, which is of great importance to our customers to minimise downtime.

Although a big percentage of our work is with crane owners, we get enquires from other sources such as harbours, docks and boat yards. Projects include:

• Completely dismantling an overhead boat hoist, rebuilding and refurbishing all parts.
• Carrying out numerous repairs on smashed, crushed or bent aircraft access steps and baggage tugs, fabricating new panels and fitting new parts to bring them back to standard.
